Pedometers

I’ve decided, after overhearing my coworkers discuss it, that pedometers might be one of the more depressing things around. It’s the equivalent of, “Well, I was already walking, but now that I count my steps it’s exercise.” Whenever you’re doing reps with weights, it’s not the counting that’s building your muscles. If the walking you were doing were enough exercise on its own, you wouldn’t need a pedometer to tell you so. You would just be in shape.

Not to knock anyone trying to get in shape. You can do it! Just a few more steps!
